Five Star Opportunity

Signed up for the Bank of Montreal Vancouver Marathon today. Realized that it was a rare opportunity to bump my Marathon Maniac status up from a four star to a five star. With my double in Washington and Oregon the weekend before and the third marathon in BC on May 6th I'll qualify for the RUTHENIUM LEVEL in Marathon Maniacs! I went back and forth on this one but Michelle realized that she would also be able to bump up to IRIDIUM level taking her to four stars! This opportunity won't come again real soon so we felt like we had to jump on it. I've run this race once before and it was my first Boston Qualifier back in 2003.

As you can see from my race calendar that makes for a compressed schedule. Yee haaa! I mean BWAA HAAAA HAAAA HAAAA (that's more maniacal).

This weekend on Saturday I will be helping set up the finish line and electronically punching in the runners participating in the local Y-Run for Kids 5K held in Tacoma WA. I'll be riding my bike on Sunday supporting several of our run club runners participating in the Mt. Si 50K. I should be able to get a lot of nice pictures during the event. I'll sneak in some running both days as well.
Enjoy it while you have it!

Have a good time this weekend. We'll have to talk about plans for next weekend at some point.

Your star chasing is infectious! I hadn't really thought much about it, but now I'm looking for ways to bump up my status too! : )

Alright. It's official. You guys are definitely nuts, or should I say, "maniacal"? :-)

Well, there is no way I can bump anything with the star since I am not doing marathons and can't race ultras every weekend, or my family will shoot me dead. So I just say - ha! :) You go, guys!

Signing up for marathons on 2 weeks notice? Your conditioning must be coming along rather nicely. Enjoy the race.

You're going to have to get a second job to pay for all these race fees! It's nice that you'll be supporting your wife and friends for their 50K. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures.
