Vancouver Marathon

I managed negative splits with a chip time of 3:25:40. This time is four minutes faster than my 2003 Vancouver Marathon. Ended up in 10th place for my age group. We had light rain for most of the race. Michelle and I ran into several Marathon Maniacs and really enjoyed our brief stay in Vancouver. This race qualified me for the 5 star level in Marathon Maniacs. I'm not going to take an ice bath tonight so we will see how I feel this week without one. My guess is warm.
Michelle ran a PR at 5:25 today!
Our camera stayed in the bag the entire trip so sorry, no pics this race!

Cheers!

Wow, Eric, 5 stars! Congratulations!!! I'm secretly hoping you feel fantastic with no ice bath and can start dishing out some other kind of advice. =)

Have an awesome week!

You and Michelle are so intense. I sometimes think of you and wonder where it's coming from - this zest, this passion, this ardor for running - and where it may take you.

Aren't you ultra runners supposed to be dead slow? You've got pace to burn, man. Awesome, and congratulations on your fifth star.

Great to see you have 5 stars now too. There is no way you deserve to have less of them than I do.

And to be able to drop your time (even a little) while training for States? Not bad, buddy.

Hey, BTW I ran for a while on Saturday with a woman (Trish something) who has been the Aid Station captain at Rucky Chucky for a whole bunch of years. Small world, huh?

Congrats on the 5 stars and awesome time!! Crazy that you can be so fast and yet run so much distance.

Amazing job lately with all the amazing racing that you've been able to hammer out. You'll definitely be all set for having a great run at WS!

Way to go, Eric! The PRs are coming fast and furious at your house. It's like a couple of maniacs live there or something.

5 stars, huh? Does it get any higher than that? It doesn't in the hotel world. :) I guess you're the equivalent of a luxury hotel - nice!

Congrats on another good race!

Nice job on the negative splits. Don't get too comfortable with those 5 stars. I may be able to oevrtake that some day.

What! No pictures. Now I am going to have to search your blog to see if your comment is true. (kidding)

Thanks for the reminder of he ice bath. I am sore today after my first trail race in quite a while. If I can suck it up, it might be a better solution than the glass of wine that I'm currently drinking.
