Eric's Epic

Short version only:

Flash: Ultra runners complete 78 mile 24 Summit attempt on Tiger Mt. Eric Barnes finished in 21:52. Rob Hester completed the event in 22:40. Rob and Eric climbed 21,000 feet during the run.

Nothing happens w/o people helping out.

Not to burst your bubble as I am sure you were somewhat catatonic when you wrote this, but it was ONLY 68 miles. I'll look forward to the full report.

It was EPIC. Thanks for staying close and I hope it helped you to take it easy along the way.

Yes Rob, this is why I don't usually do a report right after an event however my ice bath woke me up enough to think I could manage a brief update without making a mistake. It was 68 miles not 78. I got the "we both finished" part right!

Were you still upbeat throughout? I mean, seriously, if I'm awake that long, it's not pretty, so I can't imagine climbing and running too....can't wait to read the details. Great job on finishing!

68 miles?? Holy ridiculousness!! I would think going that far on a training run would be harder than Cascade will be where you will have a lot more aid stations and other runners out there. Rock on!
