Wow, we were blessed with good weather in that the rain and snow held off for the entire race. Temps were in the mid to low 30's which made for a cold start but comfortable for the run.
Steve, Rob, Jenny, Jamal, Karen, and I all carpooled up to the race in the morning. We arrived at 6:30 AM which was an hour before the start but parking was at a premium and we parked right next to the Aid station.
Lord Hill is a three loop race with about 2,100 feet elevation gain each loop. It's a challenging course with some muddy trails and steep climbs in places.
Steve and Jamal busted out some fine performances with Jamal placing 3rd place overall (I can't remember his time) and Steve running a 5:24:00. I think Steve was trying to catch Rob (Rattler) but got fooled because Rob jumped off into the bushes for a bathroom stop and Steve ran by him. I managed to stumble about in the woods and come in at 6 hours even. This was Jenny's third 50K and the toughest course to date for her.
Here's some pictures:

Another weekend, another 50K for you guys! You're "stumbling" is pretty fast...keep up the good stumbling!
It was actually my 4th 50k, but still the toughest! Thanks for the great day!
Jenny
Nice pics, nice weather, nice times!
I had some FOMO, but was glad to stay home, stay warm and hang with Lorri. I'm glad you guys had a great day and wonderful weather. Lotsa runnin lately!
Very nice pictures, you are going to give Glen T a run for his money (pun intended). I appreciate the extra minutes but I really finished in 5:32. I think Jamal was just over 5, 5:04 or 5:06.
You did some good stumbling following last weekend’s double. Thanks again for sharing the experience. The Yeti had a great showing at Lord Hill.
A nice ice bath and warm shower and I felt pretty good last night. I bruised my rib pretty good on my downhill roll. I took a good pain pill from Lorri's pharmacy and slept well.
Congrats and well done! 2100feet each lap is a lot of climbing! You're all superhuman!
It was nice to run with you along parts of the course, but each go our own pace. I wish I could have followed you out on loop 3 rather than staying to gorge on food. Oh well! It's all good training for something. Until the next one...
Rattler
What Rattler meant to say is that it is all good training for some crazy Canuck course in a few months. :-) Too bad he won't be here to enjoy it.
Another good showing from you Barnsy. And stylin' in those new glasses too!
Hopefully your tire iron is now squarely directed at Steve now since he has shown his true colors. Geez, here you and I were huffing and puffing up that hill and I couldn't even hear Steve breathing.
Another cool long race. You guys are C-R-A-Z-Y! I have yet to do an ultra and you guys just knock 'em out weekend after weekend.
maybe it was the onions cooking up in the other room, but i think the smilebox music made me teary eyed.
you guys over there have too much fun all the time and it's starting to really get on my nerves. ;)
I think you guys have run more 50k's so far this year than we even have in Oregon all year. I'm jealous! : )
Who knew all those races were out there this time of year? Those are some killer hills! You guys are serious running studs. :) But then, you knew that, didn't you? ;)
wow, running studs and chick magnets! not bad for ONLY one 50K this weekend. ;-)
Okay - my post is finally up! Thanks for kicking my butt. Not as exciting and full of stories as yours, but then I had the sense to get out of the cold and head home earlier!
I love the photos - what kind of camera do you carry? I'm dropping hints big time to the old man that he should get me one for VD!
