Plain 100 Loop 2

Can you really get too much climbing in with your runs? Rob, Mike from Canada, and I ran Loop 2 of the Plain 100 course last weekend. Yes another 34 miles of brutality. My climbing gear seems a bit worse for wear from the Canadian Death Race still. But I made it!

Can you say dust? Poofy powder that seeps into your shoes. I learned you need to pour it out every now and then even if you have gaiters.

Read Rob's blog for details. Here's some pictures.

Nice photos! Wanna go back?

Leslie - He's fried from the sun, not mad. We were all severely dehydrated. Beer helped.

Rattler - Hell yeah! I want to go back. I'll make my final decision after you cross the finish line at CC 100.

Leslie - BTW... Rob does not believe in Mad Monkeys. I've seen them

I might be just a frustrated road runner but no, you cannot possibly have too much climbing in your runs (well, as long as you don't require a rope, that is)

Thomas - The rope comes next week at about mile 50! Really!

Thanks for the advice, Trail Scat! We are very excited...and nervous...and scared, but I'm sure it'll be great. I wish I lived in a cooler envt where I could probably run without my heart rate going sky high.

I'll have to live vicariously through all you guys! Keep it up!

You went to hit the Plain course after your CDR jaunt earlier this month? You are indeed the Maddest Monkey of the bunch!

And I have a feeling that you're going to be at Plain this year. After all, they've got the room!

Wow, those are some amazing photos. Where did you find such a beautiful mad monkey? Good luck on the CC100 next weekend - you are a true maniac, someday I'll be cool like you!

Great pictures. Some of the trail looked a little sketchy - yikes! Oh - and nice monkey pictures. :)

By the way - Van 2 (the fun van!) :)

Nice pictures, cool soundtrack. You guys are such gluttons for climbing punishment:)

Thanks for stopping by the blog. Yeah Donald's a great guy, it was my pleasure to help him out. Truth be told it really didn't look like he needed me, he was doing just great by himself.
