That's the first time I've come across a mixture of marathon and Oktoberfest. Up to now I had considered them incompatible.

Every time I check your blog I am prepared for ANOTHER race report. LOVE IT!!!! Beer to boot... now who could complain about that.

BTW - the road does hurt but it did not show in your times.

Cheers!

You tried to keep up with Van?! No!!!!!!! Bad idea!!!!!!!!! I tried to keep up with her at iUWR last year while she had two shot quads and a blown knee she had a wrap on and she still kicked my butt!

Mad Monkey munching on the Big Bob Brat was a good one. Was Abi winking or was that after her second beer.

hoo, hoo, hah, hah

Rest those old monkey legs and then it's on to DC.

Thomas - It's like some magic chemical that allows oil and water to mix! It's been a while since I've seen people so drunk. The Oktoberfest participants walk from their hotels and stumble/crawl on their lips back.

Robin - I'll take good notes at Marine Corps for you and include lots of pictures.

Jon - Van could beat us with one leg tied behind her back.

Steve - I gave Abi a second beer but she forgot it at the table. ;-) Where's Frankie?
I think that's a rare never before captured on film mad monkey wink!

Running, bratwurst, beer, and those cool singlets. Did anyone spend time in jail? If so, then it would have been the perfect weekend.

Scott - I think the Leavenworth police only work day shift. Those other shifts get in the way of the social events.

The local police did do a very nice job working in harmony with the race directors keeping the runners from being impailed on Impallas (The GM type).

Congrats on the marathon. I can't believe you couldn't keep up with Van. We need more speed training. I practiced today with 3 miles on the Y-track. Maybe you should join me in the a.m. during the week.

Thank you for not posting any kissy pictures. I can live with the one of Steve eating.

Rattler (Rob) - Van didn't beat me with speed, she beat me with intensity. We need intensity training! I think it involves raw meat and survival training.

Realizing that the trail runner poser picture of Steve in my previous post put you way out of your comfort level I went to a more traditional Bratwurst & Apple Pie type photo from Rich.
