Seattle Marathon 2008 Triple!

Tonight's ice bath was probably the toughest knowing that it was just to keep the pain down and that I didn't need to run again tomorrow morning.

Well I managed to finish the three back to back marathons. My first trail marathon (27+ miles) the Wishbone took 5:05 to complete. Yesterday at the Seattle Ghost I managed to break four hours with a 3:58:42 marathon. Today I was guessing the "A" plan for Seattle was survival with about a 4:30 marathon. I blew the "A" plan out of the water with a 3:40:52.

The best part of the Seattle Marathon is that there are many sections where you get to veiw the leaders and the folks running behind you. With so many PNW Marathon Maniacs I was having fun waiving at all my freinds and being supportive. The weather was perfect for running at about 54 degrees and 94% humidity. Due to fog the visability was low at approximatly 400 yards but sometimes it's nice not to look up and see that you need to run way over to some point in the distance.

I will add some pictures given the chance to by tomorrow.

Thank you for reading and run fast & happy.

Whoa, baby, what an accomplishement! Three marathons is one thing...but to lower the time in each and hit 3:40 in the third is utterly astouding.

Eric, seriously, this rivals the Canadian Death Race in many, many respects. It is the speed of the races that is so amazing.

Mega congrats to you and Michelle... is there any married couple who have ever done three marathons in three days, together?? That has to be a record.

Ice well... rest well... you've earned it!!

Whoa baby! when I saw your finish time for Seattle I about fainted! What a great effort for #3, if you were as old as me, you would have qualified for Boston!

430 or 340, It's a good thing you can't tell time, you are faster that way. I think you should try 26+ miles everyday. BTW, the Creatine is really paying off. Oops, don't let Rob hear that.

You really looked strong out there today Eric! And as far as I could tell, you were the ONLY racer I heard thank the volunteers at our water stop. I agree with Steve - good thing you never learned how to tell time! Congrats - you and Michelle rock!!

Way to go Eric. How cool to just get better and better after three marathons. 3:40:52 is my exact PR and that was 3 months after my last marathon, not 21 hours.

Congrats, and as Bob says, you are a friggin' stud.

You and Michelle are really SPECIAL!!! Congrats to both of you and enjoy a week off... would ya? or... will you be running hard any time soon?

Congrats, Eric! I think I'd dread the ice baths even more than the miles.
