Tying your Running Shoes

It's frustrating to have a shoe come untied during a training run or race. I used a double knot for years to keep em tied but then Michelle discovered the "Double Bunny Ear" method and now it's the way I tie all my shoes. The cool thing is that they stay tied until you want to untie them. 99% of the time the knot will come undone when you untie the shoe as opposed to double knots where they have a tendency to ball up in a big knot that can't be undone when you try to remove your shoe.

Have a look at this video I made to see how the knot is tied...

Thanks for the tip, Trail Scat. That's just two extra steps from what I am doing now :-)

But I use the I need to tie my shoes as an excuse to take a break when I get tired. Maybe you can tie my shoes for me in the morning. Rattlers don't have hands you know.

Great tip. I tried it on the last run and it worked great.
